COTABAO CITY - The Department of Tourism (DOT) in the Autonomous
Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has conducted a forum tackling
multi-sectoral perspective on the advancement of the tourism industry in
the region. In line with the celebration with World Tourism Day, the
discussion was premised on the “Path to Peace” with insights from
security forces, legislators and tourism advocates underlying current
stature of ARMM. “Sustainable community-based tourism development
generates economic benefits whereas partnership with the security sector
is a must, given that peace and tourism development work alongside,”
DOT Regional Secretary Nassreena Sampaco-Baddiri said. (Nonoy E. Lacson)
